Elite Patient Experience

Welcome! We Hope You’ll Feel Right at Home

Paola Family Dentistry’s vision is to create a friendly and professional dental practice that will offer the highest quality of modern care to all of our patients. In order to achieve our goals, we enlist the help of state-of-the-art technology throughout the entire office.

During your dental visit, you can relax in our comfortable chairs and enjoy a warm face towel after treatment. Our digital X-ray imaging emits less radiation than traditional film X-rays and has no development time. Primescan™ digital impressions take the place of traditional foam-like impressions and allow us to fabricate perfectly measured prosthetics for the most precise fit possible. Crowns are milled in-office to expedite treatment and eliminate the need for additional appointments.

These are just a few of the many state-of-the-art technologies we offer at Paola Family Dentistry, all of which are designed to streamline your visit for a fast, relaxing, and Elite Patient Experience.

Elite-Experience

Comfortable Chair and Hot Towel Treatment

Our Elite Patient Experience offers a comfortable in-room experience. Our wonderful chair with neck support will keep your head in a comfortable position so you can watch our overhead TV during your appointment. We keep it chilly, so don’t hesitate to ask for one of our plush blankets to drape over your legs. If you have nervous tendencies, ask about anxiety-decreasing nitrous oxide and a stress ball you can squish. When you’re finished, we offer a post-treatment hot towel and soothing lip balm. We strive to offer the best patient experience in Miami County, one small impression at a time!

Oral-Camera

Intra-Oral Camera

“Intra” means “inside,” and our intra-oral cameras allow us to take high-resolution digital photographs of the small spaces inside the mouth. This allows both the doctor and the patient the opportunity to review treatment options and benefits together on the large-screen TVs in every operatory. Intra-oral pictures are also used to provide before and after images so the patient can see treatment as it progresses.

Digital-Impression-Scanning

Digital Impression Scanning

Primescan™ Digital Impression Scanning eliminates the need for a physical impression and instead allows us to digitally measure your mouth more precisely to provide the best and most comfortable treatment possible, whether used for crowns, veneers, clear aligners such as Invisalign™ or Sure Smile™, or even take-home whitening trays. Digital impressions are much easier to obtain and cannot be lost or damaged like traditional impressions. The best part is that you no longer have to sit with impression “goo” in your mouth and wait for it to firm up!

crowns

Same-Day Crowns

Dr. Howard uses a CEREC™ mill to fabricate crowns in the office during a single appointment. You no longer need to wear a temporary crown for weeks and return for a second appointment to have your permanent crown placed! CEREC is named from “ceramic reconstruction” and is a sophisticated CAD/CAM system for the production of all-ceramic inlays, onlays, veneers, partial crowns, and full crowns for anterior and posterior teeth. After preparing the affected tooth, we create a 3-D image of the tooth with the CEREC camera. The restoration is then designed in office while you wait. The CEREC milling unit cuts the restoration out of a ceramic block. This is bonded directly to your tooth. The whole appointment usually takes about 90 minutes!

3-D-Imaging

3-D Imaging

Cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT, creates a three-dimensional image taken by a scanner that rotates around your head. This technology has the capability to construct images of the bone, teeth, nerves, airway, and surrounding tissues. It provides a flawless image that can be navigated and edited by Dr. Howard to provide him with a plethora of knowledge about any patient’s specific anatomy. Some of the most common uses are to see tooth roots and the shape of the canals inside the teeth before endodontic therapy, to gather information about the density of bone and locations of nerve canals before implant placement, and to evaluate the airway for patients who struggle from snoring and/or sleep apnea. All of the benefits of CBCT images come down to this: A faster diagnosis, a more precise treatment plan, an easier recovery for the patient, and increased potential for longevity of your dental health.

Laser-Dental-Procedures

Introducing Laser Dental Procedures

Dental lasers are FDA-approved and provide an exciting new way to ease discomfort during dental procedures. Treatments that were previously performed with scalpels or incisions can now be completed with a laser. Less-invasive treatment means improved results and faster healing. We are able to cosmetically treat uneven gummy smile lines, clean and re-contour inflamed tissue around crowns, arrest gum disease, relieve lip-ties, and heal painful canker sores and mouth ulcers with instant relief! The results are absolutely outstanding!

Isolite

Isolite™ – An Advance in Patient Comfort

The Isolite Dental Isolation System uses a flexible, non-latex, polymer mouthpiece to provide a superior level of dental isolation. During your treatment, the doctor may use this system to help keep your tongue safely out of the way of the dental handpiece. It also provides intra-oral illumination and suction, as well as a bite block for you to rest your teeth on and assist you in comfortably keeping your mouth open. The Isolite was designed to make your treatment quicker and easier, eliminating multiple hand instruments previously used by dentists and dental assistants.

digital-x-rays

Digital Imaging

Did you know that a full-mouth series of digital X-rays results in less radiation than a 4-hour airplane flight? At Paola Family Dentistry, we use a wireless, handheld device to take the majority of images. Digital X-rays emit 70% less radiation than traditional film X-rays. They have higher-quality resolution and no development time. They are less expensive and more environmentally friendly. Digital imaging can also be sent electronically to specialist offices, saving you a trip to pick up a copy of your X-rays. All of this translates to an enhanced patient experience.

Nothing beats an easier, more comfortable dental visit. If you have questions about the latest dental technology or our Elite Patient Experience, give us a call today at (913) 379-2218.
