About our Elite Patient Experience
Paola Family Dentistry’s vision is to create a friendly and professional dental practice that will offer the highest quality of modern care to all of our patients. In order to achieve our goals, we enlist the help of state of the art technology throughout the entire office. During your dental visit, you can relax in our heated massage chairs and enjoy a warm face towel after treatment. Our digital x-ray imaging emits less radiation than traditional film x-rays and has no development time. TRIOS Digital Impressions take the place of traditional foam-like impressions and allows us to fabricate perfectly measured prosthetics for the most precise fit possible. These are just a few of the many state of the art technologies we offer at Paola Family Dentistry, all of which are designed to streamline your visit for a fast, relaxing, and Elite Patient Experience.
Did you know that a full mouth series of digital x-rays results in less radiation than a 4 hour airplane flight? At Paola Family Dentistry, we use a wireless, handheld device to take the majority of images. Digital x-rays emit 70% less radiation than traditional film x-rays. They have higher quality resolution and no development time. They are less expensive and are more environmentally friendly. Digital imaging can also be sent electronically to specialist offices, saving you a trip to pick up a copy of your x-rays. All of this translates to an enhanced patient experience.
Intraoral (intra- “inside”) cameras allow us to take high resolution digital photographs of the small spaces inside the mouth. This allows both the doctor and the patient the opportunity to review treatment options and benefits together on the large screen TVs in every operatory. I/O pictures are also used to provide before and after pictures so the patient can see treatment as it progresses.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography, or CBCT, is the newest technology to Paola Family Dentistry. CBCTs are 3-dimensional images taken by a machine that rotates around your head. This technology has the capability to construct images of the bone, teeth, nerves, airway, and surrounding tissues. It provides a flawless image which can be navigated and edited by the doctor to provide him with a plethora of knowledge about any patient’s specific anatomy. Some of the most common uses are to see tooth roots and the shape of the canals inside the teeth before endodontic therapy, to gather information about the density of bone and locations of nerve canals before implant placement, and to evaluate the airway for patients who struggle from snoring and/or Sleep Apnea. All of the benefits of CBCT images come down to this: A faster diagnosis, a more precise treatment plan, an easier recovery for the patient, and increased potential for longevity of your dental health.
The Isolite® Dental Isolation System uses a flexible, non-latex, polymer mouthpiece to provide a superior level of dental isolation. During your dental treatment, the doctor may use this system to help keep your tongue safely out of the way of the dental handpiece. It also providers intraoral illumination and suction, as well as a bite block for you to rest your teeth on and assist you in keeping your mouth open while the dentist completes treatment. The Isolite® was designed to make your treatment quicker and easier, eliminating multiple hand instruments which were previously used by dentists and dental assistants.
Digital Impression Scanning
TRIOS Digital Impression Scanning eliminates the need for a physical impression and instead allows us to digitally measure your mouth more precisely to provide the best and most comfortable prosthetics possible. The TRIOS is also used when treating patients with Invisalign. Digital impressions are much easier to obtain and cannot be lost or damaged like traditional impressions. The best part is that you no longer have to sit with impression “goo” in your mouth and wait for it to firm up!
Massage Chair and Hot Towel Treatment
Lastly, our Elite Patient Experience offers a heated massage chair for your hygiene visit and a post-treatment hot towel. We strive to offer the best patient experience in Miami County, one small impression at a time!
In-House Crown Milling
Ceramic Restorations with CEREC
The CEREC Process
Step 1: Before treatment begins we inform you about the benefits of CEREC. CEREC restorations can be created and placed during a single appointment. CEREC is a sophisticated CAD/CAM system for the production of all-ceramic inlays, onlays, partial crowns, veneers and crowns for anterior and posterior teeth.
Step 2: After removing the decayed tissue or the defective filling we create the 3D image of the tooth with the CEREC camera.
Step 3: The restoration is designed in office on the CEREC while you wait.
Step 4: The CEREC milling unit makes the restoration out of a ceramic block.
Step 5: The milled restoration is bonded directly to your tooth.
